S.S.S. College Art, Science and Management, Vellore Review
The S.S.S. College of Arts and Science has been making waves in the Arcot area (25 kilometers from Vellore) for quite some time now. This college has now emerged as a viable college for both boys and girls and the placement facilities of the graduates have also improved over the years. This college has been able to produce good results in all the streams offered, (affiliated to the Tiruvalluvar University, Vellore).
The unique selling proposition of the college is that the teachers are amenable to change and are able to explain all concepts clearly. Since it is a co-education college, it caters to the numerous students who opt for the Arts and Science courses from the nearby villages and from developed areas like Ammoor, a small town that is situated at a distance of around seven kilometers from the college. The results in the University examinations have been a big draw for the parents, who have expressed good satisfaction with the facilities offered.
When the locals were contacted for their views, they uniformly opined that the college has appointed a specialized agency from Chennai to cater to the personality development of students, thus making it easy for the students to become industry-ready and also face interviews with a good deal of confidence. In fact, since the maximum number of B.Com students are able to good jobs at this college, the reputation of the college has gone up by leaps and bounds. The college is situated at the same distance between Chennai and Bangalore, and it has been reported that the various private sector institutes in Vellore, offering short-term IT courses have helped the students to get gainful employment in the medium-sized IT companies of Bangalore.
