The Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology (SHR)
The Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology (SHR) is a minority institution established in 2002
by the Irinjalakuda Diocesan Educational Trust (Reg. No. 138/IV/2001 dated 2317/2001), a trust formed
and declared by
Mar James Pazhayattil, the Bishop of Syro - Malabar Catholic Diocese of Irinjalakuda. The College is
affiliated to University of Calicut and approved by AICTE. The primary focus of the college is to expose
the young minds to the
world of Science and Technology, instilling confidence in them to face the challenges of the changing
world.
To train the youth to be the leaders of tomorrow with apt skills, deep rooted sense of social strong ethical
values and with a global outlook to face the challenges of the changing world. we promote academic
excellence. Within this short span of time, Sahrdaya has secured 9 University Ranks in first batch (2006)
and 10
Ranks in second batch (2007), including first rank in Electronics & Communication and second & third in
Science & Engineering. Campus Selection is being conducted by many reputed companies right from the
onwards, and many of our alumni are working in top organizations.
Course offered
The Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology offers the following 4 courses in B tech with an
intake of 60 students in each course.
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Computer Science And Engineering
- Biomedical engineering
- Bio technology Engineering
The courses are approved by All India council for Technical education and also affiliated by University of
Calicut. And also have 3 year post graduate course in master of computer applications.
Infrastructure
The Institutional Infrastructure includes spacious class rooms with LCD Projector, Sound System and
internet connection in all the class rooms, separate tutorial rooms, laboratories with latest equipments &
instruments, spacious state of the art drawing hail, AC Conference Hall and Seminar Halls. Auditorium
cum indoor stadium with a seating capacity of 2500, and facilities for all indoor and outdoor games,
gymnasium & fitness centre for Gents and Ladies are also available in the Campus.
Central and Department Computer Labs with 24x7 intellinet facilities are available with internet facility
of a capacity of 2Mbps DIA connection. Parents may know the progress of their wards from anywhere in
this world by this facility.
Library
Sahrdaya have fully automated Central and Department Libraries with a wide collection of books and
journals. It is supplemented with a wide range of electronic resources, heading towards a transformation
into a Digital Library thereby becoming the nodal information centre in Science and Technology. We are
subscribing to 85 National and 40 International journals and 5 Magazines.
Sahrdaya is an Institutional Member of IEEE, ISTE, lET, BMESI, CII, Infosys Campus Connect Partner
and Silver Partner of KEANE Technologies.
NSS
We have a NSS (Technical Cell) functioning in the Campus. All the four departments are accredited by
The Institution of Engineers (India)
Reprographic centre, Provisional store, Common Communication Centre, Medical Service, Counseling
& Guidance Centre, Bank facility with ATM Counter, Canteen & Snacks Bar etc. are provided in the
campus.
Hostel
Hostels for Gents & Ladies, managed by Rev. Priests and Rev. Sisters, (with a capacity of 170 & 400
respectively) with phone connections in all the rooms is also provided in the campus.
Note: While considering the claim in community quota students belonging to the Catholic Community
will he given 2% weightage on the marks he had already obtained
Students belonging to the Irinjalakuda Diocese will be given an additional 3% similar weightage
10 students coming under BPL Category will be given tuition fee free - ship
