M.E.S. College, which stands for Mysore Education Society, a very popular and familiar name in the vicinity of Bangalore South particularly in Malleswaram, which is one of the best locality in Bangalore.
Way back in 1956-57, the MES College was founded by a great visionaries and educationalists Sri.M.R.Narasimha Iyengar, Prof. M.P.L.Sastry, Smt. Vimala Rangachar and Sri. G.A.Acharya, keeping the future in mind especially girl students, have started this college at 15th Cross in Malleswaram, as till that time the nearby college was only Maharani's College, which is around 8-10 kms away from Malleswaram, it was started with a mere student strength around 68.
Though it was started at this period, but actual courses in Science was introduced in 1962, then onwards the popularity of this college has spread through out the country, for the quality of education it is imparting.
Later to accommodate the inflow of students in the college a four floor stone structure was built with a clear ventilation, with a well lit atmosphere, which is perfectly suited to give an effective teaching and learning.
It the early days it almost resembles the old traditional ‘Gurukulas' for its care, as it was started in a very small house known as ‘Anandashrama', at this stage it started imparting an eye-to-eye education system with great concern and compassion. Such quality has helped this college to become as one of the best full fledged college not only in Bangalore but also in the State.
Now, this MES College is providing value based education at an most economical and affordable cost along with the heritage of Indian culture, which insists its students to develop such qualities.
In 1982 the MES College celebrated its silver jubilee to commemorate its fruitful service since last 40 years.
