St. Andrews College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Mumbai Review St. Andrew's College is most famous for its auditorium, where many concerts and theatres are regularly organised in the city. It is also more famous for its co-curricular activities rather than for its academics. While many colleges in the city are known for their faculty and academic programs, if you ask somebody generally about this college, they are more likely to tell you about their extracurricular activities! Bollywood actress Genelia D'Souza is one of the famous alumni of St. Andrew's College.
The college has recently got a re-accreditation by NAAC with an A grade.
Academic programs: Besides undergraduate programs in Arts, Science & Commerce streams, the college offers a Bachelors of Management Studies (BMS) course & a Bachelors of Mass Media (BMM) program.
Location: St. Andrew's College is located in one of the upmarket areas of Mumbai, within a short distance of popular shopping areas & dining establishments. It is easily accessible by the public buses & is located about 15-20mins. from the railway station.
Facilities: The library has over 25,000 books, journals and periodicals. Sports facilities include a basketball court, a football field and a hockey field. There are also facilities for indoor sports. The canteen has its own name! Café Andre, as it is known, is where students hang out as in any other college. Unfortunately, the college does not have hostel facilities.
Even more popular than the canteen, though, is the famous Andoras café located just in front of the college. The cakes are divine (I just love the plum cake especially!) and mini-meals are also available. You can sit out at the tables beneath large umbrellas or opt for take-away parcels.
Other Features: On the first Friday of each month, a mass is held in the college chapel, and the choir group is well known in the city. The college has its own counseling center and placement cell. The intercollegiate music festival, named Intune, is held every year in September. The dramatics festival, named Olio, is organised by the college in December & students of other colleges are also invited.
Current Principal: Dr. Marie Fernandes
