Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram Review It is the first Indian rural medical college situated in Wardha district, at Sewagram. It has been founded by Sushila Nayar (Gandhiji's close associate and ex-health minister of India). It is an 'A' grade college under NAAC & in the top 25 colleges in India.
Talking about the college from student's point of view: It is really a good college if you want to make a good career because here you have to attend regular classes otherwise they will punish you. Discpline is strict about clothes, hostels, campus rules and regulations.
Cases and number of patients are good. There is also no distraction - it has peaceful campus as it is situated at rural area. The academic staff is excellent. The quality of lectures, seminars, integrated teachings, practicals is good. The fee structure is equivalent to a Govt medical college. (Semi-govt institute by Kasturaba health society).
Hostel: you will have single seated room right from 1st year in hostels. MESS food is also tasty. Overall campus and hospital is big enough.
For admission you have to pass their special entrance exam with PCB subjects and Gandhian thoughts as additional subject.
