The DAV group, New Delhi is having many schools under its umbrella all across the country and DAV Calderys Public School, Katni (earlier known as DAV ACC Public school) is one among them. It was established in the year 1993 basically for the wards of employees of ACC Kymore Cement Works, but later made available to students of surrounding areas as well as outside places. The school is affiliated to CBSE. It offers science and commerce streams at the senior secondary level. The present strength of the students is about 1200.
Facilities There are four science labs - Physics, Biology, Mathematics, and Chemistry. These are equipped with the latest equipment and instruments. The school ensures a high level of safety for students while working in these labs. These labs are instrumental in providing practical skills to the students in science subjects.
The library has various books, magazines, and periodicals. It also serves as a media centre for the students seeking information through IT technology. To meet that objective of computer learning and handling, the school has two computer labs, one for the junior and other for the senior section, with all relevant software and apps.
For developing the creative skills of the students an Art Room is made available. Students can pursue various creative activities like pencil sketching, crayon sketching, water painting, and many other art forms.
Admissions- Admissions are done strictly on the basis of merit through written test followed by counseling and interview.
- The candidates have to produce the Birth Certificate at the time of admission.
- TC would be required (for other school students).
- The parents/candidates can collect the application form and prospectus from the college on payment of a non-refundable fee. The form has to be duly filled in and submitted to the school within the stipulated time. After the scrutiny of the application forms, candidates are called for the test.
