Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain Vidyalaya (GSSJV) was started in the year 1966 to impart education. The school provides high quality education along with the ethical and moral values. The institution is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The aim of the school is to provide comprehensive education and to develop an individual who is capable of facing all the challenges in life. It is a co-educational institution with English as the medium of instructions. To provide education to the students, the school has comfortable infrastructure, facilities and experienced teachers.
School timings Timing: 8.20 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Assembly timing: 8.30 a.m. to 8.50 a.m. After school activities/Special class/Remedial class for slow learners: 3.10 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. Saturday working hours: 8.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. For LKG to class III, all Saturday is a holiday. For the remaining classes, second and fourth Saturday is a holiday.
The parents are allowed to visit the school authorities at the below mentioned timings. To meet the teachers: 3.15 to 4.00 p.m. only To meet the Principal: 3.00 to 4.00 p.m. (by prior appointment) To meet the Head Mistress: 3.00 to 4.00 p.m.
Academics GSSJV offers education from LKG to class XII as per the CBSE curriculum. The school introduces the students to the modern age of technology, computer, internet, multimedia and audio visual teaching methodologies. The school gives importance to academics, co-curricular activities and developmental programs. Tamil, English and Hindi are the language taught in the school. In addition to the languages, the school curriculum includes Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Commercial Science. For the senior secondary classes, the school offers Science and Commerce stream of subjects.
To assess the academic performance of the students, the school conducts mid- term test and terminal examinations. While evaluating the performance, the school also considers the involvement and the performance of the students in the subject enrichment activities such as model making, lab activities, projects, map work, map work, role play, etc.

Activities The School involves the students into many activities and development programmes. Physical education is a part of the school curriculum and the students are allowed to play track and field events, indoor and outdoor games such as volleyball, chess, cricket, carrom, kho-kho, table tennis and basketball. Yoga, skating, gymnastics and karate training is also provided at the school. In addition to the physical education activities, the school also delivers an open platform for the students to develop their talent in art education which includes painting, drawing, model making and handicrafts.
The School believes in moral and ethical values and also preaches human values, bhajans, slogans, thoughts and religious values to the students.
The clubs that conduct co-curricular activities in the school are science club, maths club, health club, GK and commerce club, Karuna club, eco club, chess academy, students consumer council, arts club and literary club. The arts club in the school gives importance to activities such as dance, band, music, painting, drawing, art and craft. The school has a cultural academy in the name Jain Kalachar Cultural Academy. The literary club includes activities such as public speaking, creative writing, debate and dramatics.
