The school is established in May 1953 with 21 children and two teachers at that time the name of the school "Defence Services Public School". Later, on July 1976 the school got its present name, the Army Public School. The school currently accommodates nearly 5000 students. Admission is given on a priority basis to wards of Army personnel posted to Delhi, erstwhile soldiers, who are grandparents today.Indoor games, dance rooms, gymnasium,music rooms,hostels,health and medical check up facilities are there.The school follows CBSE stream. Evaluation is based on formative and summative assesment.
