The Army Public School, Nasirabad (APS Nasirabad) is an English medium CBSE-affiliated higher secondary school under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). Initially started as a Montessori school in 1978, it was upgraded to an Army School in 1990. The higher secondary classes were started in the academic session of 2005-2006. Medical, non-medical, commerce and Humanities are offered for Class 12 students.
School schedule: During the summer months, the school has classes from 7.30 a.m. to 1.40 p.m., and in the winter months classes are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (timings can be confirmed from the school office). Students of Classes 1 to 3 attend school five days a week, with the first Saturday of the month a holiday and CCA/Classes up to Class XII on a Saturday.
Campus infrastructure The APS Nasirabad WiFi-enabled campus has an excellent library with books, magazines, newspapers, periodicals, and Kindle books too. Classrooms are equipped with the latest software and internet connectivity to enable a technology-based teaching-learning process. There are labs for Robotics & AI, Maths, Geography, and English language in addition to the science and computer labs. There are dedicated spaces for music, and art & craft. A special Resource Room provides a learning space for children with specific learning disabilities, with guidance from qualified instructors. Other facilities include a medical room, an audio-visual room, a conference room, a sports room, etc.
Admission procedure Parents can seek admission for their wards to APS Nasirabad for Class 1 to Class 12. The minimum age of the child should be 6 years and a maximum of 8 years for Class 1 admission, as of 31st March of the year for which admission is sought. The details of the age criterion for each subsequent class and the fee structure are mentioned on the school's official website. Parents can meet the Principal with prior permission, and meet the teacher every Saturday after 11.45 a.m. with prior permission.
