Run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, KV Alipurduar Jn. is one of the popular CBSE schools at Damanpur in Alipurduar district of West Bengal. A co-educational school, for classes 1 to 12, it was established in the year 1987. Like other KVs, it mostly caters to transferable government servants as well as military personnel. Based on vacancies, others in the service of central PSUs, state government and civilians too may seek admission of their children at this prestigious government school. The school offers both science and humanities stream for classes 11 and 12.
Infrastructure Kendriya Vidyalaya Alipurduar Jn. has decent infrastructure facilities. There are 24 classrooms and most of them are ICT enabled with LCD projectors and smartboards. There are 3 science labs and two computer labs. The school has a good number of computers at its computer labs as well as at other laboratories and offices. Broadband internet facility is available at the school and the laboratories are all networked through LAN connectivity. With 846 students from class 1 to 12 and 57 computers, the students-computer ratio is a healthy 15:1. Among other things, the school has a library, a music room, an SST lab and a games room. Admissions Admissions at this school are on the basis of government guidelines. Wards of central government employees and personnel working in the armed forces are given priority in admission. More the transfers more are the likelihood of getting admission. The reservation guidelines for SC/ST/PwD category students are also followed. The current reservation percentage for the three categories is 15, 7.5 and 3 percent respectively. Registration for admission to class 1 is done online. The minimum age of the candidate for admission to class 1 should not be less than 5 years as on 31st March in the year of admission.
