Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station was established at AFS, High Grounds, Chandigarh in 1980. It imparts holistic education till 10+2 level in Science (Medical & Non-Medical), Commerce and Arts. The school has well equipped facilities, including Scouts and Guide Room, HM Room, Examination Room, Medical Room, Art Room, Music Room, a Staff Common Room, Activity Room/Smart Room, Sports Room, Resource Rooms in the Secondary and Primary Wings, a Junior Science Lab besides a big playground.

| Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS High Grounds, Chandigarh was established by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathana in the year 1978. Located within the premises of Airforce Station High Grounds, it mainly caters to the wards and children of Airforce, Army, ITBP and CISF personnel. Children of other central and state government employees and other civilians are also admitted as per the availability of vacancies. The campus is spread across 11 acres of land and the school runs from classes I to XII.
KV AFS High Grounds follows the CBSE curriculum. More than 1400 students are in the rolls of the school. Classes I to X have three sections each. For classes XI and XII, arts, science and commerce streams are offered to the students. In the science stream both medical and non-medical options are available.
Infrastructure & facilities The school has all the usual facilities that every KV has. It has adequate ICT infrastructure. There are four computer labs, including, a language lab. All the computer labs have broadband internet connectivity. With more than 40 computers, the student to computers ratio is quite good. Class III onwards, there is one computer for every 30 students. All the teachers, 49 in all, are well trained on computers through either the EDUTECH program or other means. The school has the facility to pay the fees through online channels.
The school has a library and practical labs for physics, chemistry and biology. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are part of the academic curriculum here. Activities like art, music, dance and dramas are to be participated by every student and there are dedicated classes for the same. As for sports, there is a playground and there are facilities for games like badminton, volleyball, indoor table tennis court, kabaddi, etc. There is an indoor hall for chess also.
Admissions at KV AFS High Grounds, Chandigarh are based on the norms and guidelines of the KV Sangathan. Class II onwards admissions are primarily based on vacancies. Priority is given to children of the armed forces personnel, especially those who have been transferred very frequently in recent years.
