About Girish Vidyapith Special High School

During 1934 Acharya Debendra Nath Sharma Shastri established a residential school based on earlier Gurukul system. This is an Assamese medium school affiliated to Assam state board having an intake of 24 students in 6th standard admission.

Among these 24 seats, 1 seat is reserved for SC, 1 for ST, 2 for school management consideration and the rest is selected based on merit list.
After admission, it is compulsory for every student to reside in their Hostel.
Sanskrit and Advanced Sanskrit is compulsory for every students along with other general subjects.
