About Touch Wood School Gujrara
Touch Wood School, Gujrara is located in the picturesque region of Doon Valley in Dehradun in the State of Uttarakhand, India. It is an ICSE school affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. Classes are from Nursery to Class XII.
Campus infrastructure and facilities In addition to science labs for Biology, Chemistry & Physics, the school has a computer lab, an audio-visual room and a music room. The spacious school hall is used not only for prayers and meetings but also for co-curricular and sports activities such as table tennis, badminton, basket ball, etc.
Besides the above-mentioned sports, there are facilities for carrom, chess, football, cricket, dodge ball and aerobics.
In the school library students get access to 4000 books as well as daily newspapers & weekly and monthly magazines. Photocopying facilities are also available.
Hostel provisions are available for boys from Std. 3 to Std. 12. The junior and senior dormitories have their own wardens & attendants to take care of the students who stay in the hostels. Both vegetarian & non-vegetarian food is available and the cuisine incorporates hygienic Indian and continental food.
Activities Interesting activities are a regular part of the school student's life, such as general knowledge quizzes, spellathons, story telling, science & computer aptitude tests, creative writing, calligraphy, talent hunts, etc.
Some of the major events celebrated annually are Independence day, Earth Day, Sports Day, Children's Day, Teachers Day, etc.
Admission procedureStudents can get admission to Touch Wood School solely on the basis of merit, based on the written test. Parents can obtain the registration form in the school office (Office Hours are frm 9a.m. to 1p.m.) on working days or download it directly from the school website. The documents which need to be submitted at the time of admission are:
- Student's date of birth certificate issued by Nagar Nigam or Gram Pradhan.
- In case of transfer from another school, the Transfer Certificate from the previous school or Pass Marks certificate will need to be submitted.
School fees The school fee can be paid monthly, quarterly, half yearly or annually. The fee needs to be made in the bank in advance. If fees are being paid by cheque, parents should deposit the cheque by the 9th of the month.
Important notes- Students mus have 90% attendance.
- Parents of students have to meet the teachers of Touch Wood School on Parent-Teacher Meeting days.
- You can meet the Principal on Fridays between 9:15a.m. to 10:15a.m.
- Students are not allowed to take any electronic devices in the school, including smart phones, iPods and MP3 players.
