St.Antony's public school was established in the year 2009 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Palayamkottai. The school is recognized by the Department of Education, Tamil Nadu and is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school strictly follows the CBSE norms and syllabus. The main aim of the institution is to create leaders and masters in all the fields through effective education. The institution has very good facilities and infrastructure.
The school has well furnished and aerated classrooms. Every classroom is attached with smart boards. The institution has well stocked library with many books. A reading room with good lighting and furniture are also attached inside the library. The school has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Computer. A separate food court with healthy drinks and food stuffs is also present inside the school premises. The students are also provided with good and safe transport facilities.
Class I &II: For junior class I and II, the school concentrates more on the development of self confidence of the students and gives basic and special training in speaking, listening, reading and writing. The growth of the students are evaluated and assessed based on their work in the class.
Class III to V: The subjects are formally introduced to the students at Class III.
Subjects: Tamil, Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social, Computer, Art, Physical and Health Education.
Class VI to VIII: At the Intermediate stage, the school provides formal education to the students and concentrates more into the subjects like Science-Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths- Geometry, Algebra and Social- History and Geography. The students at the intermediate stage have to compulsorily learn and qualify in a third language.
Class IX to XII: For the senior classes, the school strictly follows the syllabus of CBSE as the students will be appearing for the board exams conducted by the central board.
The school also gives equal importance to extra-curricular activities like Music, Dance, Martial Arts, Chess, Arts and Craft. The school also has separate clubs for Science, Nature, Quiz, Music, Dance, Martial Arts, Chess, Mathematics, Computer, Social Service, Health, Arts and Crafts. All the clubs conduct competitions and events regularly to fine tune the skills of the students.
