About Cluny Vidya Nikethan School
Cluny Vidya Nikethan (CVN) was established in the year 2009 and is managed by the educational society of the sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny. It is a co-educational Secondary School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). English is the medium of instructions in the school. The institution is a non-religious organization which admits the faculty and the students from different ethnicity. The school closely monitors the scholastic and co-scholastic growth of the students.
CVN offers education from LKG to class X as per the CBSE curriculum. From class I to IV, the school provides a wide knowledge to the students on the subjects like Tamil, English, Hindi, Maths, EVS, GK, Computer Science and Value Education. From class V to VIII, instead of EVS the students will be given separate education on Social and Science subjects. Hindi, Computer Science and Value Education are compulsory for all the students from class I to VIII. The subjects that are included for class IX and X are Tamil, English, Maths, Science and Social.
For KG classes, the school adopts the Continuous and Comprehensive method of Evaluation and evaluates the oral and writing skills of the kids. To evaluate the academic excellence of the students, the school conducts 4 formative assessments and 2 summative assessments in an academic year for class I to X. For each term, the school also conducts informal internal assessments such as class test, project, assignment, classroom behavior, worksheets, etc. In addition to the scholastic areas, the school also evaluates the co-scholastic skills of the students.
The school campus covers an area of 6.5 acres land. The campus gives a calm and cool learning environment to the students. The school adopts modern method of teaching by fitting digital board in every classroom for the audio-visual lessons. The school also has a spacious audio visual room with a seating capability for 500 students. To provide practical knowledge to the students, the school has well-equipped Language lab, Maths lab, Science lab and Computer lab. The school library has well-furnished reading room and is also stocked with books, magazines, dailies and story books. The school has RO water plant, infirmary and arts and crafts room.
The school motivates the students to take part in the co-scholastic areas. Special training is given to the students on activities such as dance, karate, taekwondo, silambam, music, vocal, yoga and school band. The students are encouraged to take part in the physical education classes and are given training in both indoor and outdoor games. To promote social skills, scientific skills, communication skills, creative skills, literary skills and leadership skills, the school has club activities for the students. The clubs that are operating in the school are Interact club, English literary club, Tamil literary club, Science club, Eco club, Disaster management club, Maths club, Health and wellness club, GK, Heritage and Integrity club, Sports club, Fine arts club and JRC society.
The clubs in the school conducts Talent Expo competitions such as debate, quiz, elocution, essay writing, verse speaking, poetry writing, solo dance, mono act, cookery, sales talk, handwriting, storytelling, drawing, etc. and identifies the hidden talent of the students.
The school organizes field trip to factories, companies, orphanages, etc and it also celebrates founder's day, sports day, children's day and other special occasions by conducting cultural events.
