About Chettinad Vidya Mandir School

Chettinad Vidy Mandir (CVM) was established in the year 2008 and is managed by Rani Meyyammai Achi of Chettinad Charitable Trust. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and it offers education from LKG to class XII. It is a co-educational institution and has received British council's International School award for the year 2013-2016. The school educates the students in both scholastic and co-scholastic areas.

Academics

CVM offers holistic education to the students from LKG to class XII. English is the medium of instructions in the school. For KG kids, the school provides basic education through activity based learning methodology. XSEED curriculum from iDiscoveri is followed by the school for class I to V. The school educates the students from class VI to X as per the CBSE curriculum and follows Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern. CVM provides extra coaching to the students of class X and XII and prepares them to face All India Secondary School Examination.

Separate well-equipped laboratories are available for physics, chemistry, biology and computer science. The school library has class-wise reference books, periodicals, dailies and magazines. For games and sports, the school has indoor games room, swimming pool and a playground of area 16019.93 Sq. mtrs. Separate hostel is available for boys and girls. The school also provide transportation facilities for the pickup and drop of the students.

Activities

CVM plays a major role in identifying the talent of the students. The school conducts various talent contests, creative contests and competitions on co-curricular activities regularly to unleash the hidden creativity and talent of the students. CVM has both paid and unpaid activity clubs. Through paid activity clubs, the school trains the students in extra-curricular activities for a fixed cost during weekends.

Unpaid activity clubs in school- Tamil club, Maths club, Science club, faith club, eco-club, cookery club, heritage club, reading/quiz club, Tagore public speaking and health and wealth club.

Weekend paid activity clubs in school - carrom, skating, embroidery, karate, keyboard, guitar, mouth music, dance, judo, chess, French and yoga.

Through the club related activities, the school trains the students in various fields. Other than the club related activities, the school also motivates the students to contribute for the society. The students from CVM regularly participate in the social related activities such as awareness programmes, rallies, camps, etc. The school also organizes field trips and other celebration activities in a grand manner.
