About Carmel International School
Carmel International School (CIS) was founded in the year 2009 and is managed by Catholic Fathers of the CMI Congregation. It is one of the prestigious international schools in Hosur. The school follows the footsteps of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara and aims to provide academics, moral values and spiritual values to the students. The motto of the school is "Empower to Excel". It is a co-educational day school affiliated to CISCE.
Academics Carmel International School offers education from Grade I to X. It follows the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) curriculum. Both theoretical and practical classes are conducted in the school to provide wide subject knowledge. The school provides computer education from grade I and also conducts special language laboratory classes to improve the communication skills of the students. To evaluate the academic excellence of the students, the school conducts Quarterly, Half-yearly and Annual Examinations. In addition to the term exams, the school also conducts monthly tests, slip tests and assigns project work the students.
Infrastructure and Facilities The school has calm and serene environment. The classrooms are well-furnished and it provides interactive learning atmosphere. The classrooms in the school have interactive white boards for effective teaching purpose. The school library has a wide collection of books and it helps both the students and teachers to improve their reading habit and also provides a platform to update their information knowledge. From class VIII, the text books are replaced by laptops. Separate laboratories are available in the school for Computer, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Other than the science and technology laboratories, the school also has Language lab and Maths lab. To provide essential information to the parents about their wards, the school management uses SMS service. CIS also has facility to conduct online examinations. The school has playground, swimming pool and facility to play both indoor and outdoor games. Transport facility is available in the school.
Activities To encourage the students and to cultivate the moral values into the students, the school conducts special orientation programmes and workshops. The school organizes International tour, Educational trips and excursions every year to visit important places and tourist spots in the world. To develop the mental growth and the physical fitness of the students, the professional coaches in the school provides special coaching in chess, table tennis, cricket, yoga, etc. Every year the school organizes a summer camp to improve experience of the students in sports, science, music and history.
