School curriculum - Gurukul InternationalThe curriculum has 3 main parts-
- Pre-Primary and Primary-At this level, the curriculum focuses on the listening, writing and reading skills of the kids. Various activities and games are involved in the process of developing communication skills. Kids get to enjoy rhymes, stories, etc in the library and also learn about different sounds, phonetics, words and our environment. They also experience various writing tools like pens, pencils, crayons, etc., holding them and expressing their feeling by scribbling. Apart from this, the basics of mathematics like numbers, shapes, sequences, etc are included in this stage. Kids also enjoy theme-based plays, puppets, playing musical instruments, dance, singing and many more such fun activities during this period. The school has various musical instruments and also has the trainers for all these activities to guide the kids properly.
- Middle school-The school follows National Curriculum Framework based syllabus. Mathematics, Hindi, English, Social Science and Science are the compulsory subjects and other subjects like Dance, Music, Art and Craft, General Knowledge, Sanskrit are also included in the curriculum supported by various field trips and practicals.
- Secondary and Sr. Secondary -Being a CBSE affiliated school, it strictly follows the CBSE syllabus and NCERT books. Apart from the textbooks, the teachers also refer to other assignments and books to supplement teaching. Students also participate in various debates, group discussions, talk-shows, etc and different surveys, practical sessions and investigations are also part of this curriculum. Yoga, marshal art and self-defense are also included for the students in this curriculum and experienced trainers are available for proper training.
School UniformThe uniform is same for both boys and girls. It includes a shirt, trousers, black shoes, a tie and a belt. It is applicable on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday whereas, they need to wear track-suit on other days of the week. Other guidelines include crew cut or military type hair cut for boys and two plaits with yellow satin ribbon for girls.
