About The South Indian Association School & Jr. College
The South Indian Association (SIA) school is one of the oldest educational institutions in Dombivli, having been established over more than six decades ago. The school has classes from the pre-primary level up to high school. The junior college section is separate.
A unique aspect of the school is to organize educational field trips for teachers as part of the SIA Teachers' Enrichment Program. Teachers observe learning methods and students' activities at the school where they are taken for the trip.
Infrastructure & facilities Students of the school study in classrooms equipped with both, blackboards and whiteboards. There are well-maintained physics, chemistry and biology labs. There is a library where children read fiction, non-fiction & newspapers during their weekly library period, a computer lab as well as a knowledge centre. Students enjoy sports and games on the small playground of the campus.
The SIA campus has 24x7 power supply and is under CCTV Surveillance. A Radio Freq identification (RFID) system monitors the attendance of the students & sends messages to parents if their ward is absent.
Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities Students can join the unique clubs, such as science club, cultural club, math club, Sanskrit club, literary club, etc.
Cultural events and festivals are celebrated with great gusto, such as Janmashtami, Diwali, Christmas, Independence Day, etc. The Kshitij inter-school competition is organized in the school, wherein over more than a dozen schools compete in colouring, story narration, fancy dress, paint on computers, etc. Sports day is scheduled each year on the school playground, with simple races and traditional games like Kabbadi.
Children are also taken on school picnics and field trips.
Admission procedure For admission to The South Indian Association school's nursery class, the child should be in the range of 3 to 4 years. The provisional admission form can be obtained from the school office in the month of November, between 8a.m. and 10a.m., on payment of Rs.100/-. The completed form should be submitted along with the requisite documents: 1. The original Birth Certificate of the child, as issued by the competent Municipal Corporation / Municipality / Panchayat. 2. Any proof of Residence (this can be the original of a Ration Card / Pass-Port / Aadhar Card.
