About Delhi Public School
Delhi Public School, Sonepat is a co-educational day-cum-boarding CBSE school under the aegis of the Delhi Public Society (DPS), New Delhi. The school provides a lot of scope for fun activities, such as clubs which include ones for photography, cookery, animation, etc. Students also learn team spirit and taking on challenges through inter-house competitions of the three houses, named Ganga, Yamuna and Ravi.
Then there are field trips and longer excursion trips to enhance the student's experience beyond the school's academic and other activities.
Infrastructure and FacilitiesDPS Sonepat has a unique recycling paper lab, where students convert waste paper into reusable paper products, including for display boards, lamp shades, folders, etc.
In the science labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, students are encouraged to use models to understand science concepts and develop reasoning skills through practical experiments.
The three computer labs have a broadband Internet connection to enable students to do their own research for projects.
The library helps the students to develop their concentration skills and improve their vocabulary & language skills. There is even an annual 'Rocket reading award' given to those who read a lot, based on the number of books they read in that year, with minimum levels set of the number of stories/books assigned for students each class!
Other facilities include an art and crafts room, a music room, a cafeteria, a swimming pool & facilities for other sports and an open-air theatre.
For to and fro transportation of students, there is a fleet of vehicles from the areas of Sonepat, Baghpat, Badaut, Narela and New Delhi.
Admission processThe registration form to get admission to DPS Sonepat is available at the school office, online and also at collection centres in India and abroad. Check the list of zonal offices & addresses at: http://www.dps.in/zonaloffice.html. Those from distant places in India and foreign students are required to submit their last academic report available when they submit their registration forms.
For admission to Class 3 and to higher classes, the student has to appear for a written test in English, Science/ EVS and Maths. The test consists of multiple-choice questions. This written test, however, is only for those students who, during an interview, are found to be not satisfactorily eligible for admission to a particular class. The interview is merely to make an informal assessment of the child's educational development, interests, language & general social skills. The school's Head Mistress/ Pro-vice Chairperson, a senior academic faculty member and the counsellor-psychologist are present during the interview.Admissions for 2025 - 2026 Academic YearPlease contact the school directly for the admission procedure in specific schools.
