About St. Francis College School
St. Francis College was founded in the year 1885 and is one of the well-known higher secondary schools in Lucknow for education in the science and commerce stream. It runs classes from Nursery onwards. For Classes XI and XII, the school offers courses of studies in English, Hindi, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) / Mathematics / Computer Literacy, Commerce, Accountancy, Economics, Environmental Education, and SUPW.
The college is a recognised, unaided Anglo-Indian minority institution established and administered by 'The Catholic Diocese of Lucknow', a charitable Religious Society registered in Lucknow under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It has an impressive royal architectural building in the heart of Lucknow city. There is a lot of rush for admissions that are based on last class marks and interview.
FacilitiesThe school is equipped with modern laboratories, spacious classrooms, a well-stocked library, a gymnasium with a wooden floor, two indoor badminton courts, table tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, two extensive playgrounds for football, hockey, cricket with athletics and a beautiful swimming pool. It also has a well-equipped computer lab.
There are many co-curricular activities for the students like debates, dramatics, elocution, music, art/craft, socially useful and productive works, electronics, food craft, and many other creative activities. There is one NCC wing (Air force) also in the school for interested students to participate.
Jimmy Shergill, a Bollywood actor; Air Marshal Denzyl Keelor, Vir Chakra recipient; Wing Commander Trevor Keelor, Vir Chakra recipient; Gopal Khanna, who worked as Director of Agency for Health Care Research, in the USA, are some of the noted alumni of St. Francis College.
Admissions For admission to nursery, boys who have attained the age of 3 years and 6 months as on 1st April of the academic year can apply. Parents can collect the registration form from the school during the months of December/January and submit the same duly filled in along with the birth certificate, latest passport-size photograph, and self-addressed stamped envelope. Based on the interview, held generally by the month of February, the school office will intimate the parents about the results of admission.
