About M.G. Public School
M.G. Public School (M.G.P.S) was started in the year 2002 and is managed by M.G. Educational and Health Care Charitable Trust. The school is continuing its service in the field of education for more than 15 years. It is a co-educational, English medium institution which is offering education from LKG to class XII. M.G.P.S is one of the premier institutions in Ramanathapuram. The vision of the school is to make human beings out of students. The qualified faculty members in the school help to develop the students as socially responsible citizens by providing quality education.
School Timings Kindergarten: 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Class I to XII: 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The school office works from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all working days except Sunday.
Academics M.G.P.S follows the curriculum of the Tamil Nadu state education board from LKG to Class XII. In addition to the equity syllabus, the school also gives education to the primary and the middle school children by following the standard curriculum of the CBSE board. As per the state board syllabus of Tamil Nadu, education is given on subjects such as Tamil, English, Mathematics, Computer, Science and Social. The school conducts classes to develop the speaking and writing skills of the students on English. Innovative techniques and technologies are used by the school to improve the learning process. Special coaching is provided for all the students to achieve good marks in examinations. It is noted that the students of M.G.P.S have secured high scores in the S.S.L.C examinations conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board of Education. Apart from academic education, the school also teaches discipline, personal hygiene and moral values. Extra-curricular activities and sports are a part of the curriculum and the school motivates the students to participate in the state level and district level competitions, so as to unleash the hidden talent of the students.
Facilities The campus of M.G.P.S covers an area of 6.50 acres of land. Maria Montessori Block is a special building built inside the school campus for the KG classes. To ensure play time for the tiny tots, the school has a Kids' play park in the KG block. Separate furnished classrooms fitted with blackboards are allotted for each section of the class. The school also has smart classrooms to provide audio-visual experience to the students for the easy understanding of the subjects. To conduct science experiments, the school has separate, well-equipped science laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The school also has Computer and Math laboratories to develop the subject knowledge of the students.
The school library has a wide collection of educational CDs, periodicals and nearly 3000 books on various topics. To develop the sports talent of the students, the school has a separate play area with necessary sports equipment. For pure drinking water, M.G.P.S has a RO drinking water facility. The school gives importance to the health and hygiene of the students and it regularly conducts eye check-up and general health check-up once a year.
Activities Beyond academics, the school gives importance to club activities, extra-curricular activities, and physical education. Expert coaches provide sports coaching and training to the interested students on a regular basis. The school concentrates on games and sports such as chess, table tennis, carrom, tennikoit, badminton, Kho-Kho, handball, football, basketball, and volleyball. The school provides rigorous training and also encourages the students to participate in district, state and national level sports tournaments.
On all Saturdays, the school conducts classes on extra-curricular activities. Qualified staffs provide training to the students on the extra-curricular activities such as dance, music, karate, skating, drums, guitar and keyboard.
To develop the talent and skills of the students, the school provides opportunities for the students to participate in the various club level activities of the school.
