About The Iconic School
Established by the Neeraj Bulchandani & Baby Muskan Memorial Charitable Trust, The Iconic School offers the CBSE curriculum from the pre-primary to the senior secondary level. With an emphasis on quality education, the school has collaboration with Learning Forward India, which provides professional training modules for the teachers. The effectiveness of the teaching-learning elements is reflected in the school's achievements. One is the British Council International School Award 2019 and the second is the Award for Excellence in Infrastructure & Experiential Learning, an honour received in March this year from MY FM Bhopal Education Excellence Conclave.
Academic levels At the early education level for toddlers in the kindergarten block, the activities are planned to ensure the little ones quickly become self-learners. They develop not only communication skills, but also pick up social skills while interacting with other kids and teachers. Cognitive and emotional growth is built as well.
At the primary level, cognitive and other skills are further developed and students become self-motivated. Parents are considered part of the school community, to provide their input to the educational experience.
At the middle school and secondary level, the focus is on developing learning skills and application of their subject knowledge.
At the senior secondary level, the course of studies at The Iconic School not only adheres to the CBSE curriculum, but students also get prepared to move on with a career goal. Some of the subjects towards this goal include psychology, sociology, political science and other streams of Humanities, as well as subjects related to management, engineering, and technology along with science and mathematics.
School activities Other than regular educational trips, The Iconic School organizes international exchange programs and encourages students to participate in community service. Co-curricular activities include debates and quizzes, reciting poetry and having an animated group discussion, theatre and mime, dance and music, painting and sculpture, photography, etc. In an interesting collaborative venture with Helen O'Grady International, the school has set up the EduDrama Academy. Through drama, students pick up self-confidence, learn effective communication skills, unleash their creativity and learn to be critical thinkers, overall expressing themselves in myriad ways.
Then there are the clubs, devoted to performing art or developing specific talents and skills or are literary in nature. Students can thus opt o learn a musical instrument, pick up a martial art, develop language skills, etc. In order to foster teamwork, every student from Grade 5 onward is a member of a house, namely Jade, Topaz, Sapphire or Ruby.
At the secondary level, a Student Council enables students to be involved in the educational experience, providing support to the faculty, bringing forth the views of the students, developing discipline and responsibility in the students, etc.
School infrastructure and facilities Facilities for sports at The Iconic School include those for both indoor and outdoor games. With gymnastics and skating introduced at the kindergarten level, children develop their locomotor skills at an early age. The same sports, along with cricket, basketball, football, athletics, tennis, swimming, shooting, etc. continue with the primary classes. At the middle school level, the student is encouraged to focus on developing their skill in one sport and represent the school in that sport at inter-school, national and international competitions.
At the academic level, interactive learning in digital classrooms, science, math and computer labs result in interesting ways to study subjects. The library has different sections for each level of learning, encouraging students to read for pleasure as well as delve into books to find out information. A fascinating learning platform at The Iconic School is the innovative STEM-Robotics Innovation Lab which encourages students to apply the concept they learn in theory in physics, electronics, computer software, etc to the project models they make.
The Counselling Cell schedules aptitude tests, training modules and seminars to prepare the students to make a decisive step to taking up a career as per their interest and abilities. Students are given useful guidance to study abroad, such as how to prepare an application, acquiring a letter of recommendation, writing a statement of purpose, etc.
A qualified Doctor and resident nurses are present in the school infirmary to supervise the students' health, with regular check-ups of the children. In fact, a child undergoes a routine medical exam at the start of each term so that ailments, if any, can be detected and treated early. An ophthalmologist's weekly visit ensures the eyes remain healthy, too. Keeping good health in mind, the canteen serves nutritious food. An interesting aspect is to help students learn the skill to do basic cooking.
Students can avail of the school bus transport facility. Each bus has a first-aid kit and is equipped with GPS and CCTV. An on-duty teacher along with a transport coordinator has been appointed exclusively to ensure the safety of the students.
The admission process Parents can obtain the school prospectus and register their wards for admission to The Iconic School through the online mode or directly at the school office. A child must be registered in advance for the entrance test and interview, without which he/she will not be considered for admission to the school. Once admission is confirmed, fees have to be paid quarterly or annually as per the schedule, by Demand Draft or cheque or through the online mode at the designated bank. Charges will be levied for late payment of fees. There will be extra fees for school trips and excursions as and when these are scheduled.
