About Jeeva Public School

Academics

Jeeva Public School adopts XSEED curriculum for the pre-primary classes. Through XSEED curriculum, the students are taught through practical learning sessions followed by application, questioning and feedback. For the primary and middle school classes, the school follows the CBSE curriculum and evaluates the academic performance of the students based on the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) method. Languages, General Sciences, Social and Mathematics are the basic subjects taught to the students. Along with academic education, the students are also given opportunities to develop their personality, communication skills, thinking skills and creative writing skills. The school regularly keeps an eye on the academic progress of each student and gives special intensive coaching to those students who are in need.

Activities

The school curriculum gives equal importance to co-curricular activities. Physical education, sports, yoga, gymnastics, art and craft, music, dance are the activities carried out in the school. To promote martial arts amongst the students, the school also provides training in Taekwondo and Silambam.

In order to develop the leadership quality, team spirit and the art of competitiveness, the school follows House system where all the students of the school are grouped into 4 houses namely Cheras, Chozhas, Pandiyas and Pallavas. Each house is headed by chief animators, captain and vice-captain. Interhouse competitions will be conducted throughout the academic year and the students who win a particular competition will contribute points to the house they belong to.

Every year the school conducts 'Extroverts Explo', an exhibition cum sales programme where the students will make handicraft articles from waste products and will exhibit them to the parents and public. In this exhibition, the students are the heroes as they are the ones who involve in the process of making, finishing, fixing the prices and marketing the 'Wealth from waste' products. All the proceeds earned from this programme will be donated to any home for the needy by the students' representatives. It is a highly innovative programme organized by the school to develop the creativity, business and social skills of the students.
