Marthoma Educational Society, one of the devoted philanthropic organisations, has established several educational institutions across the country. One such institution is in Mysore known as St Thomas Central School located at a posh area in Vishweshwara Nagar. Under its guidance, the students excel in various co-curricular activities like classical dance, calligraphy, art and craft, keyboard, yoga, chess, karate, abacus, handball and instrumental music, to name a few.
St Thomas Central School, Mysore is an English medium school that follows the syllabus prepared by NCERT under the guidance of CBSE, New Delhi. The school is also recognised by the Government of Karnataka and provides education in State syllabus too.
There are facilities for indoor games, dance, music and an auditorium. Uses innovative and interactive teaching methodology and has 33 classrooms, all with smartboard facilities. Laboratories, RO drinking water, web-based learning programs, safety and security through CCTVs, transportation facilities, etc. are also provided by the school. The school also conducts special classes for various competitive examinations like NEET, AIPMT, CET, KVPT, etc.
The institution is a residential and day school with separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Church and Sunday school facility is also provided at this school.
Admissions are offered from Kindergarten onwards for which application forms for state syllabus are issued from January. For CBSE syllabus, the forms are issued from March.
