About Maharishi Vidya Mandir Raipur 2 School

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Raipur 2 which is under the management of the Maharishi Shiksha Sansthan has got provisional affiliation status to the State Education Board. Established in 2000 with classes from Nursery to Std. 10, both day and residential facilities are available. Students have to wear separate uniforms for the summer and winter months.

Academics

What is unique about this school is that they have devised their own textbooks based on the State-Board syllabus and the curriculum includes Vedic Science. Students thus practice yoga and transcendental meditation, just like the students at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Raipur 1. Other subjects are science, math, social studies, computer science (this is from Class 3 onward), physical education, language, arts, music, dance, and painting.

Campus infrastructure and facilities

There are halls for yoga and meditation classes. Other facilities on the two-acre campus include classrooms with audio-visual equipment for teaching, a library with a reading room, science and computer labs, art and music rooms, and a playground. School buses have been provided for the students.

Activities

Sports and cultural programs, as well as educational tours, are scheduled, as also an exciting training program in mountaineering that has been organized by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi.

To inculcate teamwork, every student is a member of one of four houses, namely, Vashishtha, Narayanan, Parashar, and Vyas, each of which is represented by a colour, namely white, golden yellow, parrot green, and saffron respectively.

Admission procedure

Students are given admission to classes from Nursery to Class 8 on a first-come-first-served basis as per availability of seats. There is a verbal and/or written test, followed by an interview. For admission to the Nursery class, the child must be 3+ years as on 1st April during the year in which admission is sought.
