About Prerna International School
Prerna International School, Nagpur which was earlier Prerna Public School, was launched in June 2006 by Prerna Sewa Mandal, a registered Public Trust, in Vihirgaon, Nagpur. The English medium co-ed CBSE school is from Nursery up to Class 10. A good number of students have scored above 80% in the Class 10 exams. Strict discipline is maintained, wherein students must be punctual, not wander outside the school premises, be disciplined in the classroom, wear the designated uniform, and have their books, bags, tiffin boxes, etc labelled properly with their names and Class number on it. They are not permitted to bring outside books to the school without permission from their teachers.
Academics and ActivitiesThe pre-primary classes at Prerna International School, Nagpur are Nursery, KG-I, and KG-II, where teaching is based on recognized Montessori and Kindergarten methodologies. Sensorimotor skills are developed through interesting activities and hobbies.
At the primary level, subjects for students of Class 1 to 8 include English, Hindi, Marathi/Sanskrit, Maths, Science, Social Studies, General Knowledge, and Computers. Value education is also imparted, and activities include arts and crafts, music and dance, physical education, etc. The curriculum for students of Class 9 and 10 include English Literature, Hindi course – B, Sanskrit Communicative, Maths, Science, Social Science, Work education, Health & Physical education, Computer, and Art education.
There are two terms for all classes, with 20 marks for periodic tests and 80 marks for the half-yearly exam. In the case of Classes 9 and 10, the internal assessment marks also include the marks given for notebooks and enrichment activities.
On a weekly basis, students of Prerna International School, Nagpur participate in physical activities like a mass drill and indoor and outdoor games. In fact, it is mandatory for all students to take part in such activities and nobody can 'bunk' them unless a medical certificate is submitted to support their exemption from these activities. Students are also encouraged to take part in cultural activities, debates, and elocution. Sports facilities are provided for shooting, archery, skating, volleyball, football, etc. The competitive spirit and team-building skills are developed through the membership of four Houses, named after Indian leaders, with each House having a colour, namely Gandhi (green), Nehru (red), Patel (blue), and Tagore (yellow),
Campus infrastructure and facilities The 20-acre campus of Prerna International School, Nagpur has e-learning classrooms, laboratories for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Computer Science, a library, rooms dedicated for dance and music as well as yoga classes, an audio-visual room to screen movies as per the age level of the children, a first-aid room, water coolers, and a playground. School buses are available to transport students to and fro, from various areas of the city.
Admission procedure at Prerna International School NagpurChildren can get admission to a particular class as per completing the age mentioned below as on 30th September of the academic year-
- For Nursery: completed three years of age.
- K.G.-I: completed four years of age.
- K.G.- II: completed five year of age.
- Std. I: completed six years of age.
After KG-II, re-admission will take place for the higher class. A student must have 75% attendance in order to get promotion to the next class.
Children who want admission to Prerna International School, Nagpur from another school are required to submit the school-leaving certificate/transfer certificate signed by the Head of the Institution where they last studied and this should be countersigned if child has changed the Board or District. Additional documents will also be required to be produced, including supporting proof of having passed the qualifying or equivalent qualifying exam, along with the proof of date of birth, namely the certificate that is issued by the official Registrar of Birth and Deaths.
School fee payment School fees have to be paid in three installments, while the bus fee has to be paid in two installments. The fee counter at the school office of Prerna International School, Nagpur is open from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday, and from 8.30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday.
