About Laurel High Global School
Laurel High Global School is a CBSE-affiliated school at Rajamahendravaram, popularly known as Rajahmundry, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Located on the banks of the river Godavari, Rajahmundry is the cultural capital of the state with a lot of historical significance. The school has a very serene surrounding with lots of open space and greenery. A co-educational English medium school, Laurel High currently conducts classes from pre-KG to class 9 and in the coming years, the school will be able to offer education up to class 12. The school has a separate preschool section named Laurel Kids located at a different location in the city.
Academics Academic-wise, the school has been divided into three sections - the kindergarten, grade 1 to grade 6, and grade 7 to grade12. The nursery to pre-primary classes follow the kindergarten curriculum which is mostly play-based and the focus is on learning by exploring. Grade 1 to grade 6 follows the Cambridge Assessment International Education curriculum as Laurel High is a registered Cambridge International School. For grade 7 to grade 12, the school follows the CBSE curriculum.
Infrastructure and facilities The campus at Laurel High Global has the most modern of infrastructure with the latest facilities, be it for academics, sports or co-curricular activities. The classrooms have smart class features along with ICT (Information and Communication Technology) features for its well-equipped science laboratories and library. There is a central library with more than 3000 books and publications. Laurel High also has an association with School Radio, an online radio service for schools and colleges. It provides a medium for interaction, communication, networking and sharing of ideas & information among the students. Just like in a radio station, the students are able to put up their presentations through this online radio tool.
The sports arena has facilities like a football ground, lawn tennis courts, a basketball court, skating ground and a half Olympiad-size swimming pool. For the nursery and KG students, there is a toy library and a separate play park centre with a host of modern play equipment. The school has a well-laid traffic park, where students are taught about traffic rules and discipline through physical demonstration. Among other facilities, there is a big central plaza, where students enact various drills and displays. There is an amphitheatre for conducting cultural activities and two spacious multipurpose halls, as well.
The school has its own transport arrangement, with each bus equipped with a GPS tracking system for the parents to track the bus through a phone-based app. The buses are provided with fire extinguishers, first aid kit and have three emergency exits. The buses are also equipped with security cameras, inside as well as outside. The school provides for an infirmary for taking care of minor medical emergencies.
Admissions Indian students: For admissions, parents need to first fill an enquiry form that is available at the school website itself. On being contacted by the school counsellor, an appointment will be booked and the parents can visit the school along with the child. Parents should carry all the necessary documents like marks memos for the last two years, transfer certificate, date of birth certificate, address proof, passport size photographs, etc. while they visit the school. Parents can see the facilities available at the school and can then fill up an application form. Followed by an observation session, admission will be offered to the prospective student. On confirmation of admission, the fees are to be paid.
International students: Laurel High Global is a preferred school for many international students because of its world-class infrastructure. In fact, 30% of the parents' profile is either foreign national or Non-Resident Indian. The school provides for various international workshops and seminars attended by many overseas educationists. For admissions, parents of foreign and NRI students can submit the application form online along with the necessary documents. A teacher observation session is conducted and on successful completion, admission is offered. The fees are to be paid subsequently, on confirmation of the admission.
