About Rasiklal M. Dhariwal English Medium School & Jr. College
Established by the Shri Anand Tirth Charitable Trust in 2000, Rasiklal M. Dhariwal English Medium School & Jr. College is a co-ed English medium school from the pre-primary level to Class 12. A minority institution, it is affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).
Academics and Activities RMD School & Jr College, Pune follows the SSC curriculum with qualified and trained teachers imparting lessons in English for all classes. German is offered as an additional language. The junior college's first academic sessions were started in 2011 and the courses of the commerce and science stream are recognized by the State Board. Vocational courses are also offered to higher secondary students. There are qualified sports coaches for football, cricket, boxing, kabbadi, etc.
At the pre-primary level, conceptual development takes place through the learning of shapes, images of vehicles and traffic signs, fruits, and vegetables, and motor skills are developed through free play activities, music, dance, puppetry, etc. Activities at the secondary school level include science exhibitions, literary and cultural activities, music lessons, etc.
Students are members of one of four houses that are named after flowers, namely, Blue Bell, Primrose, Daffodil, and Hibiscus. This provides a platform for teamwork and the competitive spirit during inter-house competitions, be it in sports events or in other events. For learning beyond the classroom, educational tours are scheduled from time to time.
Infrastructure and facilities The campus of RMD School & Jr College, Pune is spacious, both indoors and outdoors. There are large classrooms with audio-visual e-learning facilities, science labs, a computer lab, a library, a well-equipped sports room, a conference room, and a large playground. Transport facility is also available.
Admission procedure Admission to RMD School & Jr College, Pune is given on the basis of availability of seats and on fulfilling all the eligibility requirements. The minimum age criteria is as follows, as on 31st December -
- Age three for Nursery
- Age four for Jr. Kg.
- Age five for Sr. Kg.
- Age six for Std. 1
Parents have to submit the application form with the relevant documents, namely-
- For pre-primary students: A photocopy of the birth certificate and latest passport size photo.
- For Class 1: Original birth certificate.
- For Classes 2 to 10: The school leaving certificate from the last school attended.
- For all classes: Aadhaar Card of the student and Aadhaar Card of the parents.
An Administration Officer will screen the admission forms and check the documents. Then the parents and their ward have an interaction with the school Principal and an admission test is administered. Once their ward clears the test, the parents have to submit the documents in original for verification and pay the required school fee before the start of the academic year. The school fee can be paid via online mode through NEFT after registration at the RMD School & Jr College website, or offline with a cheque payment at the school office between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on working days. The bus fee is separate and can be paid in two installments. Cash payments are not accepted.
