About S S Sahney High School and Jr. College

Established in 1971, S S Sahney High School was initially from the primary level to the secondary level and in recent years has expanded to include a Jr. College. The co-ed English medium school follows the curriculum as per the guidelines of the Maharashtra State Board and Class 10 students appear for the Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C.) exam. Students of first to the eighth standard follow the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern with a Grade system as per the percentage of marks.

Academics and Activities

At the pre-primary level, children learn basic concepts through the phonetic method and develop multi-sensory skills.

S S Sahney High School & Jr. College has an active PTA and Student Council, with members of the later managing the activities of the four Houses, namely, red, blue, yellow, and green. Students go on field trips, enjoy camps and picnics, attend workshops, participate in projects like e-waste management, celebrate festivals, etc. Beyond their study books, the students participate in skill-based educational activities, such as how to grow a kitchen garden, and art & craft activities.

Campus facilities

The campus of S S Sahney High School & Jr. College has large classrooms and a library that stocks general knowledge books, animated storybooks, encyclopaedias, subject-wise reference books, magazines, etc. In the computer lab, primary students learn Logo programming language to develop basic programming skills, while in the higher classes they learn MS Office, GeoGebra (software for Mathematics), etc. The science lab has informative models and charts, as well as the requisite lab apparatus with which students perform experiments under the supervision of the teachers. There are also sports facilities for athletics, football, etc and for indoor games.

For the pre-primary section: 1 p.m. to 4.15 p.m.

For the primary section: 12.45 p.m to 6.15 p.m.

For the secondary section: 7 a.m to 12.40 p.m.

There is no school on Saturdays and Sundays (timings of the Jr. College section are not known).
