About Hillgreen High School & Jr College
Hillgreen High School & Jr College (HHS & JC), Pune, Maharashtra is a private, unaided CBSE-affiliated higher secondary school. Established over 25 years ago by the Kerala People's Education Society, the English medium co-ed school has classes from Nursery to the higher secondary level. The Junior College offering Science and Commerce streams is affiliated with the State HSC Board.
Special activities While education through the formal curriculum is imparted in the classrooms, a whole new learning system comes into play through unique field trips and excursions. Other than places of general interest, such as tourist spots with landmarks, the students of Hillgreen High School & Jr College may visit a science lab or a factory, go trekking on a nature hike, interact with local communities during rural visits, etc.
Students are allowed to borrow books from the library for reading for the duration of one week, but certain books, periodicals, and magazines are to be read as reference books in the library itself. There are also plenty of co-curricular activities, such as elocution, quizzes, debates, art competitions, etc. Learning Karate and attending Yoga sessions is part of the curriculum. Sports facilities on the campus have been provided for football, hockey, cricket, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, skating and chess.
School campus The spacious campus of Hillgreen High School & Jr College in Pune has science labs, a library, audio-visual rooms, a gym, rooms dedicated to dance and music, a canteen supplying hot and healthy food. CCTV surveillance throughout the campus ensures security and a safety audit has been done of the school premises.
The school does not have its own fleet of buses for transportation. However, a bus facility with lady attendants on board is provided by the Management (the Kerala People's Education Society).
Admission procedure Parents seeking admission for their wards at Hillgreen High School & Jr College can obtain the application form for admission from the school office, along with the prospectus (these are available online at the school's website as well). Students who are from another State/country must also submit the school leaving certificate from the previous school. This certificate must be counter-signed by the relevant school authority; otherwise, they will not get admission.
Children can get admission on the basis of merit, and are required to fulfill the age criterion as of 1st April of the academic year, as per the class to which admission is sought. The age criteria are as follows-
- For Nursery: Age three years and above.
- For LKG: Age four years and above.
- For U.K.G: Age five years and above.
There is no entrance test for the primary and middle school sections, while for the senior school, the student has to appear for an entrance test in three subjects, namely, Math, English, and Science.
School fees, including bus fare, must be paid on schedule and only through online facilities, with the fee deposited in the school's bank account.
