About The Shri Ram Universal School
The Shri Ram Universal School (TSUS), Vijaypur, Jammu is a co-ed English medium CBSE-affiliated school from Nursery up to Class 12. The teaching-learning methodology is as per the lesson plans developed by Shri Educare Limited, namely activity-based teaching. Their specially designed curriculum incorporates the five values of sensitivity, integrity, responsibility for the pursuit of excellence, and pride in heritage. Regular PTA meetings are scheduled so as to allow parents to know the progress of their wards, with formal report cards issued twice a year.
Academics and Activities TSUS Jammu The learning methodology at the pre-primary level is child-friendly, involving a lot of free play and not only fixed times for certain activities. The children of the primary school from Class 1 to Class 5 develop their language and communication skills, observation skills, etc in addition to learning the subjects of the curriculum. Co-curricular activities include drama, storytelling, poetry, music, computer lessons, general discussions, and activities that bring out their artistic skills. At the middle school level, the students venture out on educational trips, and co-scholastic work like community services helps in social awareness. In Classes 9 to 12, the students work on projects and assignments.
Co-curricular activities include the performing and visual arts, environmental initiatives, school excursions, sports and games, etc. Students can join some interesting clubs, such as pottery, theatre, dance and music, cooking without fire, creative writing, etc.
TSUS Vijaypur Campus The campus of Shri Ram Universal School, Vijaypur, Jammu has plenty of sports facilities, including basketball, cricket, skating, tennis, table tennis, badminton, carrom, chess, etc. There is a separate room for Yoga as well. Other infrastructure includes a library, a composite science lab, a Maths lab, a computer lab, art and craft room, rooms for music and dance, a medical room, a canteen, a conference room, etc.
Parents can avail of the transport facility provided by the school for up to 15 kms within the school's radius. There is a fleet of air-conditioned buses with a Nanny and a Guard on board each bus.
TSUS Jammu Admission Procedure Parents should collect the school brochure from the school office for a nominal fee, fill up the online application form/obtain it offline and submit it, along with the relevant documents, namely-
- For Nursery to Grade I: Copy of the child's birth certificate, immunization report, and proof of residence.
- From Grade II onwards: Copy of the student's birth certificate, proof of residence, report card, and a transfer certificate from the previous school.
Parents should ensure that their wards fulfill the qualifying age criteria before applying, as stated at the school's portal or make inquiries of the same at the school office. For admission to Nursery, KG, and Grade 1, a simple interaction will take place between the parents and the school's Principal, with one teacher and the academic coordinator also present. In the case of students seeking admission to Grade 2 onward, the assessment will be done through an evaluation worksheet as per the age of the student.
