Swami Vivekanand Integration English School (SVIES), Latur is a co-ed CBSE-affiliated English medium higher secondary school. There are day boarding/residential facilities for boys and girls.
The school focuses on not just academic excellence but also aims to inculcate good values and social responsibility in the children who study here. The school schedules remedial classes for students in need after regular school hours and on Saturdays.
SVIES Campus Infrastructure In the spacious smart classrooms, graphics and 3-D images create a fun learning experience that supports the teacher's lesson on the blackboard. From Class 1 onwards, students can enjoy interesting activities in the computer lab in addition to learning the basic software. In the social science lab, knowledge about nature, including wildlife, the solar system, climate changes, etc. is disseminated. Concepts related to measurements, theorems, etc. are learned in the Aryabhatt Mathematics Lab. There are also labs for individual science subjects. The library, named after Rabindranath Tagore, is a treasure trove of children's fiction books, subject-related informative books, including multilingual ones, reference material, CDs, and DVDs. Like the library, other learning spaces are named after eminent people, such as the Tansen Music Room and the Husain Art Gallery. Other co-scholastic activities at SVIES, Latur include dance, theatre, reading, membership in clubs, participation in inter-house competitions, educational tours, etc.
Other infrastructure includes an auditorium, a medical room with first-aid kits, and sports facilities for swimming, horse riding, football, cricket, table tennis, badminton, archery, etc. There is also a residential facility with a mess that provides separate hostel rooms for boys and girls from Grade V onwards.
SVIES Admission procedure Parents keen to get admission to SVIES Latur are required to first submit the online application form for admission after checking the eligibility requirements vis-à-vis age criteria. There is a non-refundable registration-cum-application fee.
The completed form then has to be submitted for registration in the Admission Office of SVIES, Latur along with these documents-
- A copy of the child's birth certificate
- Proof of address
- A copy of the child's Immunization Certificate
- Bona fide Certificate
- Four recent passport-size photos of the child
- Four photos of each of the parents
- The child's report card of the previous class
- The school-leaving certificate, if applicable
- The Hostel form if the child has applied for the school hostel facility
- An Authorization Letter for a Local Guardian if the child will be availing of the Boarding facility
- Copies of Passport/VISA if the child who is seeking admission is from another country/NRI students
- The relevant Medical form
- The Transportation form if the child will be using the school's transport facility
- The Transfer Certificate, if applicable
Age criteria: The child should be above the age of 2 ½ years to be eligible for admission to the Nursery class (refer to the official website to know the age criterion for other classes for the current academic year).
SVIES Latur Selection process A child who is applying for admission to the Nursery, Lower KG, Upper KG, and Grade I classes has to attend an interactive session with the class teacher, and then one with the school Principal along with her/his parents.
In the case of children seeking admission to a Class from Grade II to Grade IX, they are required to appear for a written entrance exam for the subjects English, Math, and Hindi/Assamese on the exit level of the previous class. After that, they have to attend a personal interaction with the school Principal along with their parents.
Once the child has qualified for admission to SVIES, Latur, the acceptance for it should be given within 7 days.
