P.S. Chidambara Nadar Senior English School (PSC) was started in the year 1975 and is managed by Kshatriya Girls' Schools (KGS) managing board. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The medium of instructions in the school is English. The goal of the school is to provide both scholastic and co-scholastic education to the girl students and to raise them as socially responsible citizens of India.
School timings LKG to Class V: 8.50 a.m. to 3.50 p.m. Class VI to X: 8.50 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. LKG to Class II (Saturday): 8.50 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Class III to X (Saturday): 8.50 a.m. to 3.50 p.m. Second Saturday is a holiday. Morning assembly starts at 9.00 a.m. in the school and the students must present inside the campus at 8.50 a.m.
Education P.S. Chidambara Nadar Senior English School provides education to the students from KG to class X as per the NCERT curriculum. For KG classes, the school follows Montessori techniques and develop the basic skills of the kids through activity based and play-way methodologies using the Montessori teaching materials. For the primary class (class I and II) students, the school introduces the foundation education and helps the students to develop their LSRW skills. From class III to X, the school curriculum includes the following subjects: English, Tamil, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.
The school follows grading system and the academic excellence of the students is evaluated based on the performance of the students in terminal examinations, internal assessments and the involvement of the students in co-scholastic activities.
Facilities The school has a wide-spread campus covering an area of over 6.84 acres of land with buildings, lush green lawns and a mini zoo with duck, lovebirds, and fish tank. The school has separate, furnished and spacious classrooms for each section. To explore various concepts practically and to update the subject knowledge, the school has equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Language and Computer science. The school uses digital teach aids such as LCD monitors, projectors, and audio systems.
The school library has a comfortable reading room and is well-stocked with various books, magazines, novels, dailies, and periodicals on various topics. The school has a multimedia room, auditorium, mess hall, mineral water plant and a generator. The school has a playground, indoor stadium, and courts to play games such as volleyball, basketball, kho-kho, tennikoit, badminton, table tennis, chess, and carrom.
Transport facility is available in the school for the pickup and drop of the students. The school owns 5 buses and it is used mainly for the pickup and drop of the students located in and around the school. Transportation fees vary based on the location.
The school hostel is available to accommodate only 26 students from class VI. Only students who wish to continue their education at the school when their parents are transferred to some other location are allowed to stay in the hostel. The hostel has facilities such as food, water, washing machine and the water heater.
Events and Activities The school gives equal importance to scholastic activities and co-curricular activities. Through the co-curricular activities, the school helps the students to gain knowledge, develop skills, personality and social responsibility.
Some of the co-curricular programmes conducted by the school are art and craft, first aid classes, life skill education, environmental education, total health programme, classical dance, music, yoga, guides, and quiz club. Physical education is a part of the curriculum and the students can develop their sports talent in volleyball, basketball, kho-kho, tennikoit, and badminton.
