Reserve Bank Staff Quarters (RBSQ) School was started in the year 1976 and is managed by the Residents Welfare Association of RBI. The school is affiliated to the CBSE board and provides education from LKG to class X. It is a co-educational institution with English as the medium of instructions. RBSQ School is one of the prestigious institutions which have earned a good reputation by maintaining a high standard of education. The aim of the school is to provide holistic education to the students and to develop them as a responsible citizen of the nation.
School timings LKG: 9.00 am to 12.15 pm
UKG to X- Morning session: 9.00 am to 12.15 pm
UKG to VIII- Afternoon session: 1.00 pm to 3.35 pm
IX and X- Afternoon session: 1. 00 pm to 4.30 pm
Except 2nd and 4th Saturday in a month, all Saturdays will be a half working day for the classes VI to X.
Academics The School follows CBSE curriculum from class I to X. English is the compulsory first language in the school and Tamil, Hindi and Sanskrit are taught as the second language. The school offers Tamil and Hindi as third language from class V. The students must learn any one second and third language as per their choice. Including languages, the basic subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Social Science are also a part of the curriculum. As per the CBSE norms, the school follows CCE pattern for all the classes.
Facilities The school campus covers an area of 1.5 acres land and has buildings with separate spacious classrooms for each section. The school has well-equipped laboratories, well-stocked library and facilities to play indoor games and sports. The school library has a collection of periodicals, dailies, magazines and reference books. In addition to the basic amenities, the school has a garden and the students of the school has also installed a small aquarium in the school.
Activities The school encourages the students to participate in co-curricular activities, games and sports. The activities carried out at the school are yoga, music, dance, literary, art and craft. Training is provided for the interested students in games and sports and the students are allowed to participate in the competitions conducted within the school and outside the school. The school conducts science expo and the students are given opportunities to showcase their scientific skills. To create social awareness among the students, the school organizes tree plantation, care and share programme, vigilance awareness programmes, leprosy eradication camps and many such awareness programmes.
