Besant Arundale Senior Secondary (BASS) School was started in the year 1973 by Rukmini Devi. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and it offers education from pre-nursery to class XII. It is a co-educational institution with English as the medium of instructions. The school is managed by Kalakshetra Trust. BASS strictly follows Kalakshetra's values and traditional approach of education. The school nurtures the students in a colorful, eco-friendly learning environment and provides holistic education. BASS is one of the few schools, which offers arts education to the students at senior secondary level.
InfrastructureBASS provides a cool, friendly and traditional learning environment to the students. The school has spacious classrooms with the modern teaching aids. Sometimes, the school conducts classes under tress with sand, sunlight, and sounds of birds and animals. Teaching in natural environment will give refreshment to the minds of the students. To conduct practical classes, the school has laboratories for science, computer science, physics and chemistry. The students can update their information knowledge in the library located within the campus. AcademicsBASS follows Montessori curriculum for children between two and half years to five and half years of age. From classes I to XII, the school follows CBSE curriculum. BASS provides balanced education to the students by adopting both traditional and modern methods of learning and teaching. Though the medium of instruction in the school is English, the school also teaches Tamil, Sanskrit and Hindi.
