About The Schram Academy The Schram Academy (TSA) is a co-ed English medium school set up in 2000. The School actually has four campuses in Chennai, other than this main one at Maduravoyal, namely at Anna Nagar, Nolumbur (this is Maduravoyal Annexe), Irungattukkottai and Ayanambakkam.
Other than school buses, minivans and cars are provided for transportation of children to & fro, but is limited to a 20 km radius of the school campus location.
Academics Montessori and kindergarten learning modules have been incorporated at the pre-primary level. Fun activities include music & dance, outdoor excursions and having a splashing good time with water sports.
The CBSE curriculum is followed at the primary and secondary levels. In the upper primary classes, which are from Class III to V, English language skills gain momentum, alongside learning mathematical concepts and developing reading & writing skills.
In the middle school years, learning through computer infrastructure & tools gives students exposure to modern technology. NCERT books are the source of knowledge and learning. Other than Mathematics & Science subjects, learning a third language is mandatory, with the options of Hindi, Tamil and French. Communication skills are developed and group projects enable students to understand the importance of team work.
At the high school level, these same skills are developed further. Students are also prepared to appear for competitive exams, such as the Olympiads, and IT skills are focused on too.
The senior secondary level are Classes XI and XII. In addition to the science subjects and math, students can take up Biotechnology, Mass Media Communication, Computer Science, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Art, etc.
The IGCSE curriculum is offered at the Ayanambakkam campus in Class IX and Class X.
Co-curricular activities The school employs qualified professional coaches for sports, including swimming, Taekwondo, roller skating and tennis. Dance and music, Arts and theatre are incorporated for students to showcase their innate talents. Many programs are organized for this on the occasion of national festivals and during competitions. Club activities also give the students an opportunity to enjoy their school years alongside formal classroom session.
