About the school
Sharda Vidya Mandir, Bhopal, generally known as SVM, Bhopal, is a CBSE school from Nursery to Std.XII. It is a co-educational, English medium school established in 1987. The school is recognized by the MP School Education Department, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. Note that its CBSE affiliation with the CBSE Board is provisional as per the school website since 2000 and has an extension up to 2015.
Infrastructure & facilities The academic block of SVM, Bhopal has large, airy classrooms and separate washroom facilities for male & female students. The lab block has individual laboratories for all science disciplines, namely Chemistry, Physics & Biology. Maths and Language Labs are also available, the former for development of problem solving and critical thinking skills and the latter for literacy skills.
A separate computer wing and audio-visual room is utilized for computer training & developing a student's skills for projects. Various activity clubs develop a student's hobbies.
In addition to a large auditorium to host annual school functions, the campus also has a conference hall where seminars are conducted & visiting faculty hold workshops for the students. Workshops for teachers too are conducted on the school campus. Reading skills are encouraged at the library, which is stocked with fiction books, general knowledge books, value education books, encyclopedias, etc.
There is a large playground in the 3.29 acre campus for sports & games, such as basketball, badminton, football, etc. Martial arts is also taught. A gym, music room and indoor sports facilities are available. The school also has its own school band.
Health & medical checkups are regularly done for students & faculty. Buses are hired from an external agency to provide transport facilities for the students.
General academic informationThe academic session each year is from March to February and the vacation period is from mid-April to mid-June. Note that as of February 2015, the school timings have changed. The timings now will be from 7:15 a.m. to 12noon.
School office hours Office hours for paying school fees is between 8.30a.m. to 11.30 a.m. on all working days.
To meet the school Principal, the timings are strictly between 9a.m. and 10a.m. only.
