Sherwood Hall Senior Secondary School was started in the year 1971 as a nursery school by Mrs Olga Frohlich, an educationist. It is a co-educational institution and is operating as a senior secondary school at Chetpet since 1978. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and is managed by Sherwood Educational Society. The medium of instructions in the school is English. The school strives hard to develop the skills and talent of the students by providing more opportunities in scholastic and co-scholastic activities.
AcademicsSherwood school offers education from LKG to class XII. For the tiny tots in KG section, the school follows the play way method of teaching through activity, music, art and craft. XSEED methodology of teaching and learning is followed from class I to III. The school evaluates the academic excellence of the middle and the secondary school section students through the Continuous and Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) system by calculating the overall performance of the students at the formative and summative assessments. As per the CCA evaluation system, the school monitors both the scholastic and co-scholastic activities of the students and also helps the students to improve their skills. The school follows grading system and there is no mark based system. Extra coaching is provided for the students to face the All-India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.
