About the School
Established in 1980, the Shri Agrasen Public School is a senior secondary co-ed CBSE school with classes up to Std. XII. At the higher secondary level, arts, science and commerce streams are available.
Infrastructure and facilitiesThe 4 acre campus of Shri Agrasen Public School has a large playground and swimming pool. Indoors are a gymn, rooms for dance & music and other activities as well as for indoor games. There are no hostel boarding facilities. Debates, plays & symposiums are held in the school auditorium. The over 2000sq. ft. library has over 4000 books for the secondary & higher secondary class students as well as a dozen periodicals, some magazines & 3 dailies. Basic medical facilities for first aid is available and an annual medical check up is conducted for all students.
Labs include: (i) Maths Lab to impart learning mathematical concepts in a practical way; (ii) A well-equipped science lab; (iii) Computer Lab equipped with 60 Pentium computers for students from Std. I to Std. XII. In fact, computer education is mandatory for all students from classes VI to XII.
The school does not have its own transport facilities, but autos and buses are hired from an outside agency on contract basis. The charges are about Rs. 9 to Rs. 10 per km as per the area.
Co-curricular and extra-curricular activitiesStudents are encouraged to participate in inter-school competitions and attend seminars. The school sometimes organizes cultural programs and personality development programs too in addition to sports activities.
An interesting point to note is that the school website not only has information on the syllabus for classes from Std. VI upwards, but also has full details of the holiday homework given for students of Class 6 to Class XII.
Admissions The admission period each year is from 15th March to 15th July. The academic session begins from 1st April & ends on 31st March the following year. The school's vacations are from 15th May to 30th June each year.
Fees: A new student will be required to pay an entrance fee Rs. 1500/- at the time of admission. Every student of class XI & XII science have to pay a lab fee for Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Informatics Practices, the fee being Rs.250 per subject for each quarter. Fees can be paid by cheque too, with the cheque drawn in the favour of Shri Agrawal Shiksha Samiti, Public School A/c.
The fees as listed on the website for the academic session 2013-2014 are:
Classes VI to VIII: Rs. 31,00/-
Classes IX to X: Rs. 4000/-
Classes XI & XII: Rs. 4500/-
For Computer: Rs. 400/-
For every day late payment of fees there will be an additional charge of Rs. 10 per day.
