IISST Thiruvananthapuram UG Programs Admissions 2023

1. JEE Advanced Result will be announced on June 18, 2023
2. Opening of Online Registration and Filling-in of Branch Preferences will start from June 18, 2023, at 10:00 Hr
3. Closing of Online Registration will be on June 28, 2023, at 23:59 Hr
4. IIST Admission Rank List will be announced on June 29, 2023, at 17:00 Hr
5. Closing date for Modification of Branch Preferences is June 30, 2023, 23:59 Hr
6. Seat Allotment/ Acceptance rounds: These rounds are tentatively scheduled to start from July 03, 2023- July 27, 2023 (10 rounds). Re-validation of registration of Waiting List Candidates will also be completed by this date.
7. Joining IIST will be on August 07, 2023, (Reporting Time:10:00 Hrs)
8. Spot Admissions Notification, if required and if there are any vacancies will be completed by July 28, 2023, at 14:00 Hrs
9. Spot Admissions Registration, if required and if any seats are available will be July 29, 2023, 09:00 Hrs -Aug 02, 2023, 23:59 Hrs
10. Spot Admissions, if required. (Online) if applicable will be from August 3, 2023 to August 07, 2023
11. Closing of Admissions will be on August 14, 2023
12. Induction Programme will be from August 07, 2023, to August 11, 2023
13. Commencement of Classes will be from August 16, 2023
These dates are tentative and may get changed. So students should be visiting the online admission portal regularly. (https://www.iist.ac.in/admissions/undergraduate)
The seats will be allotted based on the marks obtained in JEE Advanced 2023 examination.
The online portal for admissions will be enabled on 18th June 2023 at 10 AM. Candidates aspiring for admission should register their names on the admission online portal of IISST.
The Eligibility criteria:
1. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply
2. Candidates belonging to General, EWS and OBC-NCL categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1998. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST and PD categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.
3. Candidates who have 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII or equivalent examination are eligible to apply. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PD candidates should be a minimum of 65%. The aggregate will be calculated from the marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, A language, and any subject other than the above four. If there is more than one language, the language in which the candidate scored the highest marks will be considered. If there are more than 5 subjects, the subject in which the candidate scored the highest marks will be considered the 5th subject.
4. Candidates should have appeared in JEE mains and qualified for JEE Advanced. They should secure the minimum prescribed marks in JEE Advanced. The prescribed marks as per the brochure released by this institute are as follows. However, I suggest candidates visit their website and check.
A. At least 14% marks in aggregate and at least 3% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) for general candidates.
B . EWS/ OBC-NCL candidates should get at least 12.6% marks in aggregate and at least 2.7% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)
C. For SC/ ST/ PD candidates the minimum mark prescribes is 7% marks in aggregate and at least 1.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)
Admission procedure: Candidates who wish to join this institute should register themselves at http://admission.iist.ac.in.
The following are the steps
1. Registration online on the above site. One has to use the Undergraduate Admission 2023 link for the same on the above site.
2. Registration fee payment on e- payment mode. Rs.600/- is the registration fee for general candidates and Rs.300/- for the reserved categories.
3. IISTC will announce the rank list online.
4. Once the list is announced the candidate has to give his branch preferences.
5. Then seats will be allotted and the student has to accept the same.
6. If there are any vacancies, there will be some spot admissions.
The institute is definitely on par with IITs in my opinion. The teaching faculty are from ISRO who are having both academic as well as practical experience with excellent skill sets. As far as my knowledge goes, some of the candidates will be absorbed in various institutes and laboratories of ISRO across India.

Eligibility criteria: 1. Only Indian citizens can apply. 2. Candidates belonging to General, EWS, and OBC categories must be born on or after 1st October 1998, and 5-year relaxation will be given to the reserved category candidates. 3. Candidates must have passed 12tthe h intermediate conducted by any recognized Board/ University. 4. Candidates should have at least 75% aggregate marks in Class XII or equivalent for the general category & 65% for the reserved category (SC/ST). 5. Candidates should have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects in the qualifying examination. 6. Admission will be done based on +2 and JEE Advanced 2023 scores. Students must qualify for JEE Advance 2023. JEE (Advanced) 2023 Exam: For the JEE (Advanced)-2023 exam, the minimum marks requirement is as follows- For General category candidates: At least 14% marks in aggregate and at least 3% marks in each of these- Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.
For EWS, and OBC-NCL category candidates: At least 12.6% marks in aggregate and at least 2.7% marks in each of these- Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

Admission procedure- Interested candidates must visit the official website of the IIST. Candidates can register themselves by clicking on the signup button. They must enter their mobile number, email, name, and other required details. They can log in using your login credentials. Fill in all the required details and upload the documents with the required fee. Candidate needs to pay the fee using online mode. The registration fee is Rs.600/- for general candidates and Rs.300/- for the reserved categories. They can pay fees using a debit card/ NET banking/ credit card/ UPI.
