Based on the combined efforts of Chinmaya Trust and BHEL, the college was approved by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1989 and subsequently, in 1994, the Government included it on the grant-in-aid list. The college became partly functional in 1989 by offering a few UG science courses and then adding a few PG courses later in 2004. Apart from some UG/PG courses the college has many other activities like NCC, NSS, Games & Sports, etc. for interested students.
For admission to Computer Science, the candidate should have done 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics. For admission to Microbiology or Biotechnology, one should have done 10+2 with Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany.
For admission to PG courses, the candidates should have done their UG courses in the related subjects.

Seats are reserved for various categories as - SC - 15%, ST - 7.5%, and OBC - 27%.
Other parallel categories of reservations are - for women - 30%, dependents of armed forces - 5%, differently abled - 3%, and dependents of freedom fighters - 2%.
Candidates will have to provide TC, a Character Certificate, and any specific certificate related to the candidate at the time of finalization of the admission or counseling session.
Once admissions are over, the unsuccessful candidates would have to register again on the college website for consideration against the vacant seats if any.
Introduction
Chinmaya Degree College, Haridwar, in the state of Uttarakhand, was founded by the Chinmaya Trust on a request call by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Haridwar to open a science degree college in their premises.Based on the combined efforts of Chinmaya Trust and BHEL, the college was approved by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1989 and subsequently, in 1994, the Government included it on the grant-in-aid list. Courses Offered
The college offers the following courses to the eligible candidates -- B.Sc. (Bio. Group - Chemistry, Botany & Zoology) - 80 Seats.
- B.Sc. (Maths Group - Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) - 80 Seats.
- B.Sc. (Computer Science, Physics & Mathematics) - 80 Seats.
- B.Sc. (Microbiology, Zoology & Botany) - 60 Seats.
- M.Sc. (Microbiology) - 30 Seats.
- M.Sc (Biotechnology) - 20 Seats.
Eligibility
For UG courses candidates should have obtained 45% marks (40% for reserved category) in their 10+2 examinations. Those who had passed 10+2 with the Mathematics group (Physics, Chemistry, & Mathematics) can apply for the related B Sc. streams while those who passed their 10+2 with the Biology group (Zoology, Botany, & Chemistry) can apply for the other related B.Sc. streams.For admission to Computer Science, the candidate should have done 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics. How to Apply
