Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is also known as SMVD University. It is a state public university located in Katra, Jammu, and Kashmir It was established in 1999 under the Act of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislature. It is recognized by UGC. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various disciplines.
Currently, Applications are invited for admission into various programs for academic year 2023- 2024.
Eligibility criteria:
Undergraduate program- Candidate should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board or equivalent.
Postgraduate program- Candidate should have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate in respective discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
Doctoral program- Candidates should have qualified national-level tests like GATE/ UGC - NET/ JRF/ SLET. GATE/ NET qualified candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance test conducted by the university or candidates need to pass the entrance exam conducted by the University with a 50% aggregate.
Admission procedure:
Admissions will be based on both entrance and merit followed by SMVDU Direct Counselling.
