The admission process for Lateral Entry into Class IX and XI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for the academic year 2024-25 is announced. The admissions will be carried out based on the candidate's performance in the entrance test. I am giving below the required details.

JNV LEST 2024:

The registration process for lateral entry into the 9th class and 11th class for the academic year 2024-25 in The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has been announced. The registration will be online registration. Interested students can go to the official website of NVS at navodaya.gov.in and complete the registration. The last date to fill out the application form is October 31, 2023. The selected candidates will get the information by speed/ registered post. The result will also be notified in the Vidyalaya Notice Board and published on the website of the JNVs concerned.

The number of seats in each class will depend upon the vacant seats in various JNV schools. The admissions will be carried out based on the performance of the candidate in the JNV Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST),

The Lateral Entry Selection Test for classes 9 and 11 will be held on February 10, 2024, in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of the concerned district/ any other centre allotted by NVS.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Educational Qualification: Candidates who will qualify for the Class 10 examination from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-affiliated, state board, or other recognized boards during the 2023-24 academic year are eligible for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Class 11 admission. That means students who are studying 10th class as of now are eligible to apply for the same.

For Class 9 admission, only those candidates who are studying in Class 8 in the current academic year in one of the Government/government-recognised schools of the district where JNV is functioning are eligible. For example, students who are studying 8th class in East Godavari Dt of Andhra Pradesh can apply for JNVs that are functioning in that district.

Age limit: For Class 11, the minimum age to apply is 15 years and the upper age limit is 17 years. Students born between June 1, 2007 to July 31, 2009, Can apply
For NVS Class 9, the candidates who were born between May 1st, 2009 and July 31st, 2011 can apply.

HOW TO APPLY:

Step 1: Go to the official site of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti navodaya.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the link 'NVS Class 9 or 11 LEST registration 2023' available on the homepage
Step 3: Enter are required details and click on the submit button
Step 4: All the documents asked for in the application form also should be uploaded as per the directions given on the website.
Step 5: Pay the prescribed application fees
Step 6: Take a copy of your application form and keep it for your future reference.

I suggest the students visit Jawahar Vidyalaya website and go through the notification released by the NVS to understand the whole process clearly and then get their names registered. The dates announced may change. So it is better to visit their website frequently so that any change in any of the dates will be known.
