After doing graduation in India what is the scope of higher education in China?
Author: DR.N.V. Srinivasa Rao Post Date: 15 May 2023 There are around 1,200 universities in China. All these universities offer PG courses in various faculties. There are about 140,000 foreign students in these universities pursuing PG courses. As far as my knowledge goes, China is the top country attracting many students from almost all parts of the world.
At least about 20 universities from China are in the top 200 institutions across the world as per the surveys conducted by various agencies. For example, recently Times Higher Education did a research published rankings. In this, Peking University obtained the 17th rank and the same institute obtained the 34th ranking in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) rankings.
The government of China spends a huge money on these universities and provides very good infrastructure and facilities to upgrade the standard of the institute. This will make the institute maintain its standard.
So I say, China is a good destination for students who completed their UG in India and wants to pursue PG abroad. The following are some standard institutes.
1. Tsinghua University 2. Peking University 3. Fudan University 4. Shanghai Jiao Tong University 5. Zhejiang University 6. University of Science and Technology of China 7. Nanjing University
The above are the top-ranking institutes in this region.
I advise the students to go to the websites of these institutes and see their credentials, also can talk to reliable study abroad consultants and decide based on the area in which the students want to do their PG.
Author: Umesh Post Date: 19 May 2023 China has emerged as a viable destination for foreign students for UG, PG, and Doctoral level educational courses in various areas and branches. There are a large number of universities in China and about 200 out of them are eligible to admit foreign students for various courses.
A Chinese technical person who came to India 2 years back for the commissioning of some tools and machinery was staying in our housing society in a rented apartment and during the morning sessions in the common area he told me that the cost of education in China was much less than compared to other countries. Moreover, the Chinese Govt was spending a lot on infrastructure for educational institutes. He also told that the number of foreign students was increasing every year in Chinese universities. Apart from the Chinese courses being comparable to the world-class ones, the cost of living and course fee is also less and probably that is the reason that is attracting a large number of students to China. After doing their UG courses in India students can select courses of their choice in Chinese educational institutions as there is a good scope of PG courses in China in various areas like medicine, science, and arts. Foreign students are also allowed to work part-time to earn some pocket money for their expenses.
Some of the popular universities in China are - Wuhan University, China Pharmaceutical University, China University of Petroleum, Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, China Medical University, Hangzhou Normal University, Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhengzhou University, etc.
I would suggest that any student who is desiring to avail of higher education in China should visit the relevant university website and find all the details about the courses and also check whether they are recognized in our country or not especially the medical degrees which are to be recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
