Are commerce or arts stream students eligible to pursue nursing courses?

Yes. Students from the arts or commerce stream can also pursue nursing courses.
I know some people who did their nursing training in some private colleges with even 10th class also and working as nurses in some private hospitals.
As far as my knowledge goes science-stream students will have more options than arts-stream students in the nursing field. The following two courses can be pursued by students from arts or commerce courses.
ANM: The ANM's full form is Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery. This is a two-year diploma programme in the field of Nursing. Candidates who passed Class 12 in Science or Arts or Commerce stream can apply for this. A student studying this course will be taught how to set up an operating room, how to maintain various equipment that is used in a medical laboratory, how to keep records etc.
The duration of the course is 2 years. The examinations will be conducted by Nursing Examination Board. This course is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.
Eligibility criteria: 1. A candidate in the age group of 17 years to 35 years as of 1st December of the year in which admission is sought.
2. The minimum educational requirements shall be 10 + 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board. Students qualified in the 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by the National Institute of Open School.
