A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree is not compulsory for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam.

However, to be eligible to appear for the CTET exam, the candidates must have a minimum educational qualification of Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized Board, with the following additional qualification:
(a) having passed or appeared in the final year of the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or,
(b) two-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or,
(c) two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

So, from the above, it is clear that a B.Ed degree is not mandatory for CTET, but CTET candidates must possess the necessary qualifications as mentioned above.

The applicants must have the above degrees/diplomas before appearing in the CTET.
