There is no restriction that a candidate after completing the BAMS course in India cannot practice in medicines and surgery which he has learnt during his studies. However, it is advisable to collect relevant information, such as from Canada, USA, Australia, UAE and other countries. To get a license, the practitioner has to clear the Medical License Examination prescribed by the foreign country and once the same is cleared, he can start his practice. It seems people prefer Canada due to the improved syllabus which covers a lot of medicines to combat chronic ailments.

There is the option of further studies. After the BAMS course, an aspirant can take up an MD In Ayurveda. Familiarity with the Sanskrit Language would benefit a candidate since some texts are written in Sanskrit. That way, a student can be more competent in learning about herbs. In the country where he is likely to proceed with his studies, he has to clear exams such as the SAT/ACT/IELTS/TOEFL with impressive marks. Find out details of the formalities and the necessity of different documents to be produced during the admission process.

Yes, You can practice Ayurveda medicine in some countries where Ayurveda is approved as a system of medical treatment. Before registration, the candidate should go through the procedure laid down by the country for a doctor to practice in that country.

As far as my knowledge goes the following countries accept BAMS-qualified persons as doctors to treat patients using Ayurveda. This information is given by the concerned minister in Parliament to a question asked by an MP-
Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Malaysia, Mauritius, Hungary, Serbia, Tanzania, Switzerland, Cuba and Brazil.
