SRMIST, erstwhile SRM University, which aspires to become one of the best privately managed universities in the world by 2025 has five campuses spread across Tamil Nadu and the National Capital Region. Four of the five campuses are located in Tamil Nadu itself. The lone fifth one is located at Ghaziabad in Delhi NCR. Amongst the four campuses in Tamil Nadu, three are located in Chennai at Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani. The other one outside Chennai is at Tiruchirapalli.

SRMIST Kattankulathur is the main campus amongst all the above five campuses of SRMIST. It is a big campus and the most popular of the campuses of SRMIST. The most meritorious of the students appearing for SRMJEE take admission at this campus only. The Kattankulathurcampus has a number of colleges under its wing. The courses offered at these colleges range from Engineering & Technology, Medical & Health Sciences, Dental Science, Science & Humanities, Management, Hotel Management, Law, and Agricultural Sciences. Apart from the regular on-campus programs a number of distance and online education programs are also offered by SRMIST Kattankulathur campus.

The other campuses at Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Tiruchirapalli, and Delhi NCR also offer a number of programs. Some of these details are given below.

The Ramapuram campus offers courses in disciplines ranging from Engineering & Technology, Architecture, and Design. The Vadapalani campus offers courses mainly in Engineering & Technology, Science & Humanities, and Management. The Tiruchirapally campus is also a big one offering courses in Engineering & Technology, Science & Humanities, Medical & Health Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, and Hotel Management. It offers a number of diploma programs apart from the UG and PG courses. The NCR Delhi Ghaziabad campus offers courses in Engineering & Sciences, Management Studies, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, and Hotel Management.

Interestingly, apart from the above five campuses of SRMIST, which stands for SRM Institute of Science and Technology, there are three more campuses with the nomenclature SRM University. These are the SRM University AP located at Amravati in Andhra Pradesh, SRM University Delhi NCR Sonepat, Haryana and SRM University Sikkim.

Whether SRMIST or SRM University, all the above eight campuses come under the SRM Group of Institutions, which has under it various other colleges as well.

According to my research, SRM IST (formerly known as SRM University) is a premier educational institution in India. It has four campuses located across the country, namely the Kattankulathur Campus, Ramapuram Campus, Vadapalani Campus, and Delhi-NCR Campus.

Among these four campuses, the Kattankulathur Campus is considered the main campus of SRM IST. It is located in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu and is spread across 600 acres. This campus is the oldest and largest of the four and houses most of the academic and administrative facilities.

The Ramapuram and Vadapalani Campuses are both located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and are focused on specific areas of study. The Ramapuram Campus is dedicated to health sciences, engineering, and technology, while the Vadapalani Campus is focused on management studies.

The Delhi-NCR Campus is the newest addition to the SRM IST family and is located in Sonepat, Haryana. This campus offers courses in engineering, management, and law, among other disciplines.

As someone who has had the pleasure of visiting the SRM IST campuses, I can confidently state that there are four campuses overall, with the main campus being in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu. The campus is enormous and covers a vast area of 250 acres. It offers students a supportive learning environment and is well-equipped with contemporary infrastructure.
