Students should only take the SAT three times, according to the College Board, which runs it. This is due to the fact that studies have shown that students who retake the test more than three times usually do not experience a significant improvement in their scores. Additionally, it may be expensive and time-consuming to retake the exam more than three times.Although the number of times a student takes the test is up to them, PrepScholar specialists advise against exceeding six attempts. If you take it too frequently, a school might assume that you aren't studying enough. The College Board website allows students to apply for the SAT online. They are free to select a test time and place that work best for them. Students should also inquire about the rules regarding SAT scores from the colleges to which they are applying. Some colleges might only take into account a student's highest result, while others might average all of their scores.

He told me that it stands for the 'Scholastic Assessment Test', which is an assessment test for students planning to apply for UG programs in Canada and the USA. When we were talking, he also specified that he only passed it on the 3rd attempt, upon which I enquired him about the maximum number of attempts. He said that there's no limit as such except the limit that SATs are only conducted 5 times a year and hence a student can take it 5 times and then has to wait for the next year!
